• AP Studio Art

    Welcome to AP Studio Art!  AP Studio  offers students the opportunity to work on the college level while honing their artistic craft.  Students will explore a wide body of subject matter and various drawing and painting media.  Focus on line quality, value and light source, composition, and perspective will be stressed.  Ethics and artistic integrity will be fully explored.  Students will develop their own, unique-artistic voice. 

    Course Specifics

    • Students will demonstrate an understanding of drawing/design as an artistic practice.

    • Students will produce minimally fifteen artworks as part of their sustained investigation.

    • Students will select five of their strongest works to demonstrate quality.  (These works may be from the sustained investigation or from outside the current course work.)  

    • Students will learn how to write clearly about artwork and their own artistic process. 

    • Students will learn to discuss artwork with fluency and tact.

    • Students will learn how to benefit from, and be an active member of, a group critique.

    • Students will learn to properly photograph, and present, their artwork.
