CLASS EXPECTATIONS:
- Respect yourself, teachers, and your classmates
- Pay attention, participate, and be prepared
- Complete and hand in assignments on time
- Follow all school rules
- Work hard and give your best effort
- Write your homework in your planner every day and complete it
- Ask questions
GRADE 6 MATH TOPICS:
- Ratios, Rates, Percent
- Number sense- fractions and decimals
- Rational numbers – Pos/neg numbers
- Algebra – expressions, equations, inequalities
- Geometry- area, perimeter, volume
- Statistics and Probability
GRADING POLICY:
- Tests: 40%
- Quizzes: 30%
- Homework: 20%
- Classwork/Participation: 10%
CLASS ROUTINES:
- Notes are used daily.
- They are glued into a notebook.
- There is a packet for classwork and homework. The packet is used every day. It stays in the binder and travels back and forth.
- The Google Classroom has a digital copy of the notes, so you can refer to them if needed.
HOMEWORK POLICY:
- Homework will be assigned almost every night. Failure to complete assignments on time will result in losing points towards the homework average.
- Weekly sheets will be handed out each Friday and are due the following Friday. Help and one pre-check will be available during the week.
TESTS/QUIZZES:
- Unit tests will be given at the end of each unit of study. They are announced well in advance and will be written in the student agenda.
- Students will have quizzes during the unit on the material learned.
GOOGLE CLASSROOM:
- Each class has its own Google Classroom
- Copies of notes, packets, and weekly sheets will be posted for each unit of study
- An interactive digital notebook will be posted
