Course Expectations:
This class uses the NYSESLAT standards - Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. The student must master these standards in order to pass the NYSESLAT exam which is given every year.
Students should make an effort to practice their English skills, no matter what level, in a small group setting.
Students must respect each other and each other’s native language and cultures while learning English and learning about culture in the United States.
Students need to arrive on time for class, have the necessary materials, and be prepared to work.
Students will be graded on a 0-4 rating scale which is described on the quarterly ENL progress reports which are aligned with the NYSESLAT.
